The chemical industry is among the oldest industries in India. Chemical Industry ranks 12th by volume in the world production of chemicals. This sector contributes about 3% to the economy's GDP. Gujarat chemical sector is one of the fastest growing sectors. The state contributes to more than 20% of India's chemical output.
Industrial Chemistry is the area of latest application in the fields of chemical industry like pharmaceuticals, petroleum, polymer, agriculture, dyes, fine chemicals, forensic science etc.. The emerging areas all over the world have a very high growth potential with the application of chemical molecular designing. Consequently there has been a good need of young experts with knowledge and skills in chemistry and industrial chemistry.
